The Programmme
The Understanding Your Eating Programme does not tell you what to eat or how much. We think you know that already. Instead it helps you to explore whether you are eating to deal with your feelings. Are you using food to manage your life? And if you are, it teaches you a different way of getting through the day.
The Programme has three parts. The first is an introduction to the Programme which is designed to help you discover whether you are an “emotional eater” and if so which of the further modules will be useful for you.

The second part of the Programme consists of nine free standing modules and the third part provides on line support via the Understanding Your Eating Forum.
The first two parts of the Programme are run in groups. The introduction has no more than 15 people; the further modules have no more than 10. Each group is psycho-educational and confidential. The group leaders are all qualified and experienced counsellors or healthcare professionals specialising in this field and are trained by Professor Julia Buckroyd to run the Understanding Your Eating Programme.
